Gambaran Stress Akademik dan Strategi Koping Pada Mahasiswa Keperawatan

Stress akademik pada mahasiswa keperawatan merupakan hal yang biasa terjadi karena mahasiswa keperawatan harus memenuhi kompetensinya dari perkuliahan dan praktek di rumah sakit. Untuk mengatasi stress akademik mahasiswa bisa menggunakan strategi koping. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mnegetahui gambaran stress akademik dan strategi koping pada mahasiswa keperawatan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa keperawatan (DIII Keperawatan dan S1 Keperawatan) yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian dengan pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada tanggal 18 – 20 April 2018. Pengumpulan data tentang stress akademik dan strategi koping menggunakan kuesioner Student Nursing Stress Index (SNSI) dan kuesioner Way Of Coping. Data hasil penelitian dianalisa secara deskriptif dan ditampilkan dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi dan narasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan data bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa mengalami stress tingkat sedang yaitu 24 orang (47,06%). Sedangkan untuk strategi koping didapatkan data bahwa seluruh mahasiswa dalam menghadapi stress akademik menggunakan strategi koping yaitu problem focused coping dan emotion focused coping. Pemilihan strategi koping yang tepat oleh mahasiswa dalam menghadapi stress akademik akan mempengaruhi keberhasilan akademik. Oleh karena itu diperlukan peran dari pembimbing akademik, orang tua / keluarga, teman, dan motivasi dari dalam diri mahasiswa sendiri serta pentingnya peran lembaga bimbingan konseling yang ada di perguruan tinggi.
